Porcelain stoneware is a very grateful material as it is very easy to maintain and clean.
We recommend the use of a mop soaked in hot water and normal neutral detergent, for example from a supermarket, for cleaning. In our selection of products you can find this neutral detergent with high cleaning power.
If the stains we want to clean are difficult, we suggest the use of specific detergents dissolved in water and leaving them to act for the time indicated on the product.
There are two types of products to use depending on the nature of the stain:
- Acidic product. To remove rubbing stains from objects such as iron, aluminium or nickel, lime deposits or rust stains.
- Alkaline detergent: To remove dirt created by animal or vegetable fats, stains from rubber soles or heels, oils, food coloring, shoe polish; or the more common beer, wine and coffee stains.
Before attempting to remove a stain with aggressive agents, it is advisable to check their effect on the surfaces of the covering / flooring and the grouting material, in a confined area that is not visible to prevent significant degradation or changes to the tile surfaces.
How to apply specific cleaning products for difficult stains?
1st - Impregnate the surface to be cleaned with clean water. This will prevent the grout from absorbing the chemical agents used. It is also a good idea to rinse the surface after treatment to remove any chemical residue that may remain.
2º - Pour the liquid directly onto the stain, leaving it to act for a few minutes, then rub vigorously with a stiff plastic brush.
3º - And finally, rinse with plenty of water together with your usual floor cleaner.
In the case of gloss or polished finishes, the process is somewhat different as they are somewhat more delicate surfaces and it is advisable to proceed with more caution.
