Hello everyone! Today we are happy to present you the subway tiles, a perfect combination of classic and modern style.
To start describing them we invite you to imagine the tiles of your favorite subway station, do you have them in mind? In many big cities they are rectangular and shiny tiles, i.e. subway tiles. They are like pieces of a puzzle that you can use to create any mood you want in your project. They are classic, simple and always add a modern touch to any space.
Historically we go back to the early 20th century, when subway-style tiles became popular as they were laid in the New York subway. These tiles have come a long way from their humble origin to become an iconic element in contemporary decor. In the images, from left to right, the New York, London and Paris subway.
The main characteristics are as follows:
- ELONGATED SHAPE:
Measuring 7.5x15, 10x20, 10x30, 15x15 and 20x20 centimeters.
- FINISH:
Matte or glossy.
- PLACEMENT:
They can be placed in any position you like. We leave you a link to one of our blogs about the different placement patterns and below we expose the most frequent ones:
1. Aligned placement or running joint: the classic continuous and elegant pattern forming a perfect grid. They can be aligned horizontally, vertically, square (for square pieces) and diamond.
2. Counter-jointed placement: a very popular pattern that consists of placing the second row offset from the first row; it can be half horizontal or vertical and thirds horizontal or vertical.
3. Horizontal or vertical offset placement: a pattern that provides a fresh air to the rooms. It consists in the placement of the joints, which are interrupted on their short side, leaving the tiles displaced and aligned with the center of the tiles of the upper floor.
4. Herringbone tile installation: a pattern achieved by interlocking rectangular pieces that keep the sense of direction of the tiles.
5. Braided placement, cross line or crosshatch: a pattern formed by perpendicular lines, it can be in double or triple lady, braided counter-tied or double braided and in triple lined braid.
6. Combination of different sizes and patterns.
Currently they are very popular designs. Here are the advantages of this type of tiles:
- TIMELESS STYLE.
Their classic design never goes out of style, which means you can be sure that your space will look stylish for years to come.
- VERSATILITY.
Whether you're looking to add a vintage touch to your kitchen or a touch of sophistication to your bathroom, subway tiles are the perfect choice. They are so versatile that they suit a wide range of styles and design preferences.
- EASE OF MAINTENANCE
In addition to their beauty, subway tiles are incredibly easy to clean and maintain, making them a practical choice for any home or commercial space.
Subway tiles are much more than just wall coverings; they are a style statement, a piece of history and a form of personal expression. So why not add a touch of timeless elegance to your space with our subway tiles?
Thank you and we hope you find inspiration and creativity in our collection of subway tiles - let the transformation of your space begin!
